Tell me about summer camp!
We have a special FAQ section for summer camp here.
Summer Camp FAQs.
What does Spotlight stand for?
Spotlight stands for Spotlight Youth Theater.
Where are you located?
We currently have 10 year round areas throughout Chicagoland and WI, and have a variety of locations for classes and productions. Our home office and warehouse is located in Cary, IL. During the summer we have even more camp locations.
How to you decide where to have a Spotlight location?
Each of our locations is started by a willing family who wants to see Spotlight in their community. If you are interested in starting a branch of Spotlight Youth Theater Chicago, email Justin Parks.
What is Christian about Spotlight?
At Spotlight we are committed to Judeo - Christian values and hold to Biblical principles such as character, family, community, morality, responsibility, discipline and mentorship. Staff members agree to a statement of beliefs. While we do pray during rehearsals and sometimes classes, students are never forced to participate in religious exercises and are welcomed to practice their own beliefs. In addition, Spotlight also chooses “family friendly” material that reflects a Christian belief system.
What other programs do you offer?
Spotlight has programs for theater rentals (sets, costumes, drops, tech), scouts workshops, special needs theater classes, Spotlight@school (a theater fine arts programs for schools), and free event workshops. If you are interested in any of these programs, email .
Do you have a Scout program?
Yes, we do! Our Scout programs are $12 and include a theater workshop taught by a Spotlight teacher, tickets to the show, refreshments vouchers and a backstage tour. Click here for info on
